Mist Eliminator

The knitted wire mesh is commonly used in the separation of mist or small liquid droplets from gas or vapour stream, such as stainless steel demister pads, PP mist eliminator

The removal of entrained material in vapour flows is significant in many industry. The knitted wire mesh is commonly used in the separation of mist or small liquid droplets from gas or vapour stream in tower of petroleum, chemical, environmental protection etc. .


How it works


When vapor and entrained liquid droplets pass through a knitted mesh pad, the vapor moves freely through the mesh pad but the liquid droplets, due to their greater inertia, cannot make the necessary sharp turns and as a result are thrown into contact with the wire surfaces and briefly held there. As more droplets enter the pad and collect on the wires, they grow in size, run down the wire to the bottom surface of the mesh separator and fall from the unit. Overhead vapor is now free of entrained liquid.

PE: Polyethylene


Wire sizes


For producing the knitted wire mesh for mist elimination, the wire diameter is 0.10mm to 0.30mm, the commonly used including 0.20mm, 0.23mm, 0.25mm, 0.28mm. By careful selection of wire diameter, we produce the mesh with extremely high free volumes (typically 98-99%) along with very high removal efficiency and low pressure drop.


Frame usually 2X12.7mm, 3X25mm, 4X25mm, special size will be made according to clients requests
