Knitted wire mesh is widely used for industrial filter and demisting applications. The most common usage is used on those kitchen extract systems in household, restaurants, hotel kitchens and ship's galleys. It is a kind of range hood filter installed in a range hood for catching oil smoke and purifying the air, offering some protection against grease-fire hazards.  

Construction

Knitted wire mesh pads are designed with certain thickness, density and wire sizes to optimize separation efficiency and flow capacity for expected process conditions. The range hood filter is made from multi layers of aluminum, galvanized or stainless steel crimped knitted mesh, enclosed in either an aluminum or galvanized channel frame with either expanded metal or welded metal fascias front and back.
